Dr. Joseph Rosen

Dr. Rosen is a Professor of Surgery (Plastic and Reconstructive) at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Along side his clinical duties at DHMC, Dr. Rosen is a staff surgeon at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT and an adjunct professor at Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College. He teaches two courses at Thayer – Healthcare and Biotechnology in the 21st Century and Virtual Medicine and Cybercare. He received his B.A. from Cornell University and his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Rosen’s research interests include microsurgery and transplantation, computer-aided surgery, virtual reality simulators, telemedicine, and healthcare delivery during disasters. Since 1981, Dr. Rosen has done volunteer surgery in developing countries for Interplast, Inc. and other groups.
